S. saprophyticus is primarily associated with various hosts, including Homo sapiens (humans), Gallus gallus (chickens), Bos (cattle), Sus scrofa (pigs), and members of the Phocidae family (seals), along with other metazoans and primates. Clinically, S. saprophyticus is significant due to its association with a range of health effects, particularly urinary tract infections (UTIs). It is known to cause both uncomplicated and community-acquired UTIs, bacteremia, and infective endocarditis.
