As a chemoorganotroph, this bacterium derives its energy from organic compounds, thriving optimally at a temperature of 37°C, which situates it within the mesophilic range. This serovar is primarily host-associated, with a diverse array of hosts that includes Homo sapiens (humans), Gallus gallus (chickens), and various mammals and plants such as Solanum lycopersicum (tomatoes) and Hordeum vulgare (barley).
